In a major strategic pivot, FreshPlate, one of India's largest multi-brand cloud kitchen networks, has announced a 15% workforce reduction alongside a new physical expansion plan.
The company will partner with established dine-in networks, food courts, and corporate hubs to launch co-branded smart kitchens. By integrating interactive POS terminals, FreshPlate will serve both offline diners and delivery routes from single locations.
This restructuring follows a general increase in kitchen operations costs and digital customer acquisition rates. Shifting focus to physical touchpoints helps lower marketing expenses while capturing high-value dine-in customers.
FreshPlate's new hybrid kitchens will feature interactive self-ordering kiosks and automated inventory management, reducing human error and keeping operations running smoothly.
"The pure-play delivery model is facing headwinds. The future belongs to hybrid food brands that merge physical presence with digital convenience."
